Pearsons Academic Test of English (PTE Academic) is accepted widely by universities in USA, UK, Australia, amongst others. It was created by Pearson Language Test, part of the Pearson PLC group and endorsed by GMAC (Graduate Management Admission Council), owners of GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test). It is a Computer-based exam which focuses on real-life English used in academic surroundings. Throughout the test, student will listen to a variety of accents and academic language encountered at higher education institutions in English speaking countries.Results typically available within just 48 hours of taking the test.

PTE test - Structure & Duration :

To complete a PTE Academic test, you will need to attend a secure Pearson test center in your city. You will use a computer and headset to listen to, read and respond to questions.

During the three-hour test session, there are three main parts to the test: speaking and writing (together), listening and reading. There is also an optional 10-minute break between the reading and listening parts. During the test, you will find twenty different question formats, ranging from multiple choice through to essay writing and interpreting information.

 
Part 1 : Speaking & Writing (77 – 93 minutes)

 

Part 2 : Reading (32 – 40 minutes)

 

Part 3 : Listening (45 – 57 minutes)

 

In India the registration fees for PTE Academic Test is Rs. 17,000/-. 

The test scores can be sent to any number of institutions for free. Test Scores are available online typically within 4 to 5 business days from taking the test. Test taker can report scores to any number of institutions for free. Selected institutions can retrieve scores online usually within 48 hours.
